Hello beimage,
Please feel free to use SCE Bitmap and to load images into MADRIX. The discussion in this thread is about extensively using the feature with a lot of pictures and a lot of pictures that have a high pixel count.
Especially, when using MADRIX 3 with its SCE Image Effect this is not an issue since by default MADRIX will optimize the loaded images in order to handle them in a memory- efficient way.
