UCS2903B update problem

Post by Wolf »

Hi, I'm using Nebula to pilot UCS2903B chips (24V) in high speed mode (800kHz) with about 400-600 leds per port. With the old firmware I was able to use them either with WS2812B or UCS1903 (12V - 800kHz) Nebula's protocol.
With the new firmware (1.2.7014), I can only use WS2812B, UCS return incoherent color on every led, flickering, etc.
I see those protocols use different TL/TH timing. With WS2812B, in the last parts of the chain, I've some flickers, but maybe it can be cable's lenght problem. The strange thing is that the flickers seem to start after a fixed number of chips.
Is there the chance to have UCS2903B protocol in the Nebula's list that works and to solve this problem? Or am I working in the wrong way?

Hello Wolf,
.
In the current NEBULA firmware (1.2.7014) we found out a problem at the UCS1903 protocol. This problem will be fixed with the next firmware which is available with the next release of MADRIX 3 (MADRIX 3.6f) in a few weeks. If you need the firmware update earlier please send us an email to info[at]madrix[dot]com.
.
The UCS2903B should work with the the NEBULA when you set it to UCS1903.
It is possible to implement the UCS2903B protocol to the NEBULA but at the moment we have no samples of this ICs here in the office. If you can send a sample stripe to us, we will implement it.
